The Art of Compromise

After I decided that I wasn't willing to shell out all of the money that it would take to make my Guinea pig dreams come true, Brett and I decided on a compromise.

It wasn't a hard thing to sell him on at all, since it is a lot less alive than a Guinea pig and would not bother him with any noises or smells.  As soon as I suggested my alternative idea he agreed immediately.

We picked it up on Friday, and I am smitten.

  1. Oo! Totally cool! I have been in a constant debate with myself about which one to get, the kindle or the nook. So now that you have one, can I ask what you think, what made you choose the kindle?

So happy you got one. They seem heavenly!

  2. I have really always liked the Kindle more. The Nook has a lot of extra features, but everything you can do on the Nook, I can also do on my phone. So it wouldn't benefit me too much.

Everyone that I know who has an Ereader has the Kindle, so if Amazon ever decides to add the capability to 'lend' books between friends {which the Nook does} then I will be able to share books with my friends. Which would be awesome. :)

Let me know which one you decide on.

  6. He wasn't down for a Guinea pig?? What a shame.

However the alternative choice is pretty eye catching. Don't you feel that much smarter owning one? Yeah, I bet you do.

  7. I actually had him talked into getting me the Guinea pig and then talked myself out of it.

We will for sure get one when we get our own place again. :)

  8. You can actually lend some books with your Kindle. I love mine and I have some books I've purchased that are lendable. You can lend them for 14 days only.

  9. Thanks for the info La, I had no idea. How can you tell which books are lendable??

Looks like we need to start sharing books.

  12. You go to Manage my Kindle on amazon, go to your list of books and open up the details about it. If it is lendable, it will have a button that says "Loan this book" Not a lot are available, but all the Hunger games series are. If any are lendable that I read, I'll let you know. I'm currently reading Water for Elephants. It's a lendable one. If you haven't read it yet, I'll let you know when I'm done with it.
